Welcome to Italian Intermediate level 1! This course is comprised of six chapters, each including a video lesson, a video quiz, a written document with detailed explanations, and a written quiz with answers. The focus of this course is the past, and utilization of the tenses that are integral to describing past circumstances. The learning objectives are as follows:
-Developing fluency in formulating the Present Perfect and Imperfect tenses as well as discerning when to use one and not the other
-Developing fluency in the structure and use of the Past Perfect
-Utilizing reflexive verbs in the Present, Present Perfect, Imperfect and Past Perfect
-Fine tuned skills employing Simple and Articulated Prepositions
Whether you are studying Italian in order to prepare for a trip or for personal motivation, this class will help you evolve in your Italian learning journey! The cost is $75, however for only $100 you will receive a 1 hour video Skype lesson with the instructor, Danielle. Your Instructor
Danielle is passionate about the Italian language and culture. As an undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara, she spent a year living in Italy and studying at the University of Padua in the University of California's Education Abroad Program. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Italian Cultural Studies, and then went on to the University of Notre Dame where she was given a scholarship for the Master of Arts program in Italian literature. She began teaching her first Italian grammar class that year as well. After a year, she returned to California where she finished her Master's degree in Teaching International Languages at CSU, Chico and was hired by Butte Community College her first semester in the program as an instructor of conversational Italian. She has been teaching at Butte College ever since; both university transferrable first and second semester grammar, and conversational Italian. She also teaches privately in the community of Chico and is the co-coordinator of the local Italian club, CICO.
